Tom Sandoval, CEO
Tom brings a proven track record of over 20 years of sales, marketing and engineering management experience in the semiconductor industry. He is a veteran of LSI Logic, where he most recently directed LSI's worldwide ASIC and RapidChip® engineering organization. Mr. Sandoval also served as LSI Logic's Vice President and General Manager of Communications Products where he was responsible for the strategic marketing, definition and development of the company's communications products including IP cores, standard products, and its structured ASIC product. Tom received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering at the University of Southern California
Devadas Varma, Chairman and Founder
Devadas has an extensive business and technical background in the electronics industry. He was a founder and Managing Director of Caltos Capital. He was the CTO of Ambit Design Systems, a Cadence Fellow and a vice president and chief technical officer of the Ambit Group of Cadence. He has held senior engineering positions at Silicon Compiler Systems, Mentor Graphics and Viewlogic Systems. Devadas served on the Board of Directors of Optim Networks and ArcadiaOne. Devadas received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology India, his M.S. in electrical engineering at the University of Maryland, College Park, Maryland and his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Drexel University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and has several patents and published papers in the area of logic synthesis.
Doug Aitelli, V.P. of Worldwide Sales
Doug is an EDA veteran with more than 20 years of experience in sales, sales management and strategic account development. Prior to Calypto, he was the director of Global Accounts for Magma Design Automation Inc. Before Magma Doug held various sales and sales management roles at Synopsys, Quickturn, Racal-Redac, and HHB Systems. Doug received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Rutgers University, College of Engineering.
Gagan Hasteer, Vice President of Engineering and Founder
Gagan co-founded Calypto after making substantial technical contributions to two successful EDA startups. Before co-founding Calypto, Gagan was the Director of Engineering at Innologic Systems, a start-up in the formal verification arena. At Innologic, Gagan successfully managed the development of the company’s multi-million dollar flagship product from initial concept to adoption by more than 30 customers before the company's purchase by Synopsys, Inc. Prior to joining Innologic, Gagan was an early member of the Ambit Design Systems engineering team, where he made substantial contributions to the BuildGates synthesis product. Before Ambit, he was a consultant with the Formal Verification group of the MIPS division of SGI. Gagan received an M.S and PhD in Computer Science specializing in Formal Verification of Hardware designs from University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. He has B.S in Computer Science from Indian Institute of Technology, India.
Venkat Krishnaswamy, Vice President Applications Engineering & Services and Founder
Venkat brings significant VLSI design and methodology experience to Calypto. Prior to Calypto he held senior design, test and architecture positions at Sun where he worked on the UltraSparc T1 processor. Prior to joining Sun, he was a member of the Pentium4 design team at Intel where he held DFT, methodology and tool development positions. Venkat holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, a MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Cincinnati, and a BS in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from BITS, Pilani, India.
Anmol Mathur, Chief Technology Officer and Founder
Anmol has extensive experience and expertise in the areas of formal verification, logic synthesis and arithmetic optimization techniques. Prior to Calypto, he was the architect of the datapath synthesis and optimization group at Ambit Design Systems and Cadence, where he led technology development and productization. Prior to Ambit, Anmol was part of an award-winning team at the MIPS division of SGI that developed and successfully deployed an RTL to gate-level equivalence checker and property checker within the MIPS microprocessor division. Anmol holds a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, India where he was awarded a gold medal for highest academic achievement by the institute. He holds an MS and PhD in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he was a University of Illinois fellow. Anmol holds multiple patents and has published several papers in the areas of formal verification, logic synthesis and arithmetic optimization techniques.
Sanjiv Narayan, Vice President & Managing Director, Calypto Design Systems India Private Limited
Sanjiv brings a strong track record of management and technical leadership to Calypto. Prior to Calypto, Sanjiv was a senior architect at Cadence Design Systems, where he was responsible for managing the technology direction, customer interaction, as well as managing the product development and the validation teams for the BuildGates synthesis product. Sanjiv has previously worked in Ambit Design Systems and Viewlogic Systems where he architected system design and synthesis related products. Sanjiv received a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, India. As a Chancellor's Fellow, he received M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science at the University of California, Irvine. He is the co-author of the book "Specification & Design of Embedded Systems". He has served as a Guest Editor for IEEE Transactions on VLSI Systems and the ACM Transactions on Design Automation of Electronic Systems.
Eiki Suzuki, President, Calypto Design Systems, K.K.
Mr. Suzuki has a long track record of successfully representing and leading EDA companies in the Japanese market. Prior to joining Calypto, he served as executive advisor, leading the Japanese business for Cadence and Get2Chip, Inc. He was a founder, CEO and executive advisor for the SC Hightech Corporation, and at Sumisho Electron Devices. During this time, he built the Japanese presence of multiple EDA companies including: Ambit, Chrysalis, Gateway, Magma, Simplex, and Synopsys. He has also served in senior management positions within the Sumitomo Corporation in both Japan and the United States.
